What are some of your favorite BAM licks?

Mainly I listen to Brad's playing being a guitar player (although I listen to all of it, obviously). Some of my favorite stuff comes from his live albums though. Lately, I've been really into some of the stuff from the Fall River show, and I was never really a fan of the song Suffocation Keep (just because I only hear it live, and it doesn't really feel like a show-worthy tune, being so low key), but lately it's just grown on me a lot. Even last time when I saw it I completely appreciated it more.

One of my favorites from the 9.18.05 Fall River show, comes from Suffocation Keep, starting at 6:42 :

Code: Select all

E|--------------------7-------------9----------------12-----------------
B|--10--7---------------7-------------7-------------------7------------
G|------------9-7-----------9-7-----------9-7----------------9-7------
D|-----------------------------------------------------------------------
A|-----------------------------------------------------------------------
E|-----------------------------------------------------------------------
And the other one i've been really into lately is from Proud at 6:59

Code: Select all

E|--------------------------
B|-----10-----10s12s10--
G|--7------7--------------- 3x
D|--------------------------
A|--------------------------
E|--------------------------

share some of your favorites.

brad's solo on the woods from 11.21.2003 at pearl street is such a face melter i can't stand it. the best part starts at 4:04. he isn't doing anything too complicated... instead of playing G-A-D-C#dim-Bmin-G (im pretty sure... don't have a guitar in front of me) he outlines a longer run of chords (G-A-D-C#dim-Bmin-Adim-G-Gmin) using the same pattern just emphasizing the chord qualities of each. that with the distortion... damn. what a solo.
