Hey I would like to know what mics are good for recording amps. If a decently expensive condenser would do the trick.
sm57 are what i hear are good, but i dont know how bad a condenser would do from upclose amp.

Hey, I do some work in studios and figured I'd lend a heads up as well...my best advice for you would be to put a 57 in close...if you want to get creative and add a bit larger of a sound to your mix, consider throwing a Sennheiser 421 (facing sideways) in close as well. Just what I do. I don't think a condensor is needed, but that's just me.
