new duo album

Post: # 10844Post tim »

anyone else get a chance to pick up play, pause, stop? definitely a solid follow up to BRTBTS imo. i think it'll be interesting to see where their sound goes moving forward. 'anything' and 'memphis' are good examples of the type of music those two are capable of and sorta moves away from just the whole organ/drum thing. they could be like the postal service with rock instead of whine.

I'm looking forward to hearing this new record.

Would also like to hear some of the GRAB stuff - duo + Mike + Trey. Anyone got links to streamable soundz?

The exposure they're getting thru Mike and others is unreal, though the attention is certainly not unwarranted!

I picked it up last night, amidst the rain and mud of the show at Essex. Haven't gotten to listen to it all the way through yet, but I'm quickly liking what I hear.

Unfortunately, we coudln't get there early enough to catch the Duo's set, but 'Something for Rockets' with Trey and Mike was pretty epic. Even the skeptics seemed to dig the instrumental tunes. (The Trey & Mike vocal tunes? Yeah, some of them were... meh. Just seems to me like not taking full advantage of Marco and Joe's talent when they're backing the same damn Trey songs we've heard before... but otherwise, I enjoyed it.)

everyone seems to be complaining about the trey songs, but that was what it was suppose to be in the first place. trey was using them as a backing band. seems like everyone was expecting the duo with gordon style, with a side of trey.

Play Pause Stop

That's what happened to my shipment. I pre-ordered and now it's in the stores. I'm going to have a word with Duo management. :) [no big deal, really, I will just get the next copy long after it comes out]

You misunderstand: 1/2 of Phish is the Duo's backing band! 8)

just bought it today. digging it so far, although i don't really like the production too much. its too flat, it should be dirtier. but then again i guess the duo are more a live band anyway. but then again it doesn't sound good on my laptop or car stereo but on my big stereo system at home it sounds great. Soba and Powder are awesome songs.

i agree about the production. it does sound flat in parts, like joe's drums on BRTBTS(the song). i was actually hoping it would be way more overproduced. it pays off to listen to it with headphones or decent speakers, alot of the coolest moments are the most subtle.
