I saw BSS at the Paradise last night. They played a lot of the new BSS Presents: Kevin Drew album but also some oldies. Epic show regardless of the lack of horns or leading ladies. man i saw them at Cornell along with Yo La Tengo!

What an incredible night from two of my favorite artists. BSS was a bit watered down with musical textures. No horn section and no female vocals but still they packed a punch.

I saw Diet BSS in a church at UVM the other night. acoustics were horrible which pretty much ruined everything, but from what I could hear through the muddled mess, all the BSS tunes sounded flat while all the Spirit If tunes (which I don't like too much on record) got quite a bit better. go figure. I did like the arrangement of Its All Gonna Break, it was very different, but man did it still need horns. and Brenden Canning is cool but he's no Charles Spearin.

also good to see the AmAnSet dude still around.
