Hey everyone,
last night I check out the instrumental post-rock group Do Make Say Think doing a live scoring to the 1924 silent film epic Greed. It was a wild show with members of Broken Social Scene and the Weakerthans sitting in for the entirety of the performance. You can read my review of the show at

Thanks!

Do Make Say Think score
This seems like a slowly growing movement to score films, and seems very challenging. Nice writing! Makes me want to check this out. I missed the Usher scoring by Marco Trio, too...hope to also hit one of those.

Earth Day DC
oh yeah! Earth Day in DC this year...totally reedic festival. Estimated crowd of well over 100k (I'd guess 120k ... hard to tell with people all over the city). Jimmy Cliff, Sting, Questlove played all day long with everyone, Bob Weir, how about:bear wrote:Phrazz, when did Sting play with the Roots? good stuff?
[Black Thought and Joss Stone]
Joss with Booker T
Robert Randolph sat in on two or three tunes
James Cameron
Senator Markey with Questlove!
John Legend
Sting closed the festival.
That was one of the largest Earth Day festivals in the US.
I could guess citywide at least 1/4 million people, with over
120 to 150K in the Mall and surrounding blocks.
Performances were inspirational, but Joss and Questlove
were among my favorites. Sting's voice was superb, as
was all the other amazing vocalists. Star power through
the roof, and the vibe on the Mall was ecstatic, but it was
a very long day and fast set transitions.
Overall one of my most amazing one day festivals...lots
to see, hear and learn, and the music was exceptional.
