E: River Runs Dry?(not sure of title), Cloud**
Mat Twain (solo set) and Jocie Adams and Friends opened. Whole show including encore was about 85min. * AC/DC Cover, dedicated to Brad and Andrew's dad Phil Barr. ** w/ Jocie on clarinet.
The BBRos sounded great, you can tell they have been playing together a bunch and were really tight and comfortable with each other, more so than when i saw them in Sept. They stretched out a couple tunes, Deacon and Devil were standouts. The ac/dc tune was a nice treat, brad can sing them pretty well and shreds it up. Sarah through the wall was just Brad and Sarah but brad played the Danelectro with some fuzz on it. A weird contrast to the clarity of the harp, still havent decided if it worked or not, I kind of like the nylon string on that song better. Mat Twain played a short solo set and as dean put it "kind of sounds like Jeff Buckley but without the amazing range". Jocie sounded nice stepping in front of the mic and played guitar and piano her whole set. Her voice/style is similar to Joanna Newsom and Regina Spektor. I bet the album is nice but its pretty quiet material in a live setting, esp a club with no seats set up. Most of the people were there to see her since it was her CD release show but there were def a lot of BBros supporters there too and their set was by far the best part of the night. I really like this project and can't wait to see where it goes.
