And I know there is a show in Toronto at The Horseshoe (not 100% sure on the venue, but I believe it is The 'Shoe) and I think a show in MTL scheduled too.

Nice! SMMD is on the bill for the Liberate Music Festival, which is Aug 18-21 in northern VT, so I'd guess another couple of dates might pop up in between?

I'd been hoping they'd play a few more shows this summer or early fall since I can't travel much this winter.

They've been working on getting him in. It's just been a matter of money to sort out the whole mess. Their mgmt told me that they would take care of it this summer, so I guess it's being sorted out.

I'll do my best. Hamilton might be tough for me to get to, but I should be able to record in Ottawa, Montreal, and Toronto.

I'm assuming when you say money you mean a legal type of issue?

yep, costs money to sort out the legal matter of nathan not being allowed over the border. guess they found a way to do it where it makes financial sense in terms of them paying for a lawyer and still making money off the tour

I know a few Vermonters who it's happened to. Canada is particularly adamant about denying entry to anyone with a drug possession or DUI charge, even if it's just a misdemeanor. I guess they'll continue to deny you until you go through a process of filing extra paper work and fees with immigration to basically show you're not a threat. I bet there's a lot of musicians who've been through the process.

I believe the keyboard player for Dawes had to go through this. He got stopped at the border cause of a DUI and missed a show here in Toronto a couple months back when they came through as Middle Brother, but he made it through the border just a few weeks ago when Dawes opened for Brett Dennen. I think it's a bit of a pricey and time consuming process to go through, and ultimately and obviously only worth it if you think you're going to turn a profit on the shows. I think Davis will have a big turnout here in Canada. With every Barr Brothers show the crowds just kept getting bigger in Toronto, so I think people will be interested in seeing Brad/Andrew's other band. Especially if Kevin Drew of BSS helps promote a bit again.

Whoops, you're right. LSR doesn't have its own website, you find about its shows through Casa's (both venues are run by the same people), which is where I got confused. Thanks!
