Barr Brothers on Music Mitosis Podcast

I'm about 15m in of 1:19:xx. Never listened to this podcast before but it's a music trivia show, but there's seemingly a lot of side conversation.

Talk through a lot of The Slip years and their experiences. Fun listen so far.

Re: The Barr Brothers in portsmouth & providence

Dude, Lyle is incredible. Always a pleasure watching and listening to him. I hadn't realized he was such a big fan of The Slip, but he mentioned in his set at Portsmouth he'd seen them some 25 times over the years. 3S Art Space was really, really cool. And Marco's going to be there towards the end o...

New Low Anthem album out soon...

Interestingly enough, I think one of the guys operates the Columbus at least on some level. He was scanning tickets at the Mountain Goats show I mentioned I went to last month.

Re: The Barr Brothers to play Levon Helm's Barn in May

The Woodstock show is going to be great. And I believe the evening before in Providence is already sold out. I think that's what I read... Was just talking with a friend earlier this week and the Providence show definitely sold out. I went to that theater recently with my girlfriend for The Mountai...

The Barr Brothers in portsmouth & providence

Anyone going to these shows? I've considered hitting both NH shows and the providence one, although Bethlehem, NH is certainly a bit of a haul for me... Anyway, these two particular shows, Lyle Brewer is the opener. Brad actually did a review of some of Lyle's stuff you can find on his website, and ...

It was pretty great. You can tell this is where Marc wants to be. Or, at least, it really comes off that way to me.

PS - you can find audio of the show from the event page in this post on FB: https://www.facebook.com/events/1614827 ... 590177142/

Re: Barr Brothers - Darkness has Arms

Was poking around with this tune this morning. Decided to take to YT to see if anyone tried anything out, and sure enough, found these. First is the run through, and the second is the tutorial for how he plays it. It's a little rough, and he seems to do it in standard tuning (capo at 4). https://www...

Re: [BT + mp3] 3/24/01 Cafe Tomo, Arcata, CA

Just checking a few tracks out now. Nicely done, great sound quality! Props to Carl. Also, it never ceases to impress me that fans of The Slip are still out there (e.g., harrymcq, Cleantone and many others) taking the time and care to get recordings together and posted to this board. It is always a...

Using the translating tool through Google Chrome, it seems their band name roughly translates to Jungle Man.

Looks like it, from their channel page: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCx4mqK ... 92g/videos

They seem to have some covers of Munf and You Might Say, and another Cumulus. Now time to give them a listen....

Re: The big ol' Sliplive thread for VIDEO links

Went searching to see if there were any live versions of Cumulus, trying to find more examples of songs that use the 10th interval (such as Cumulus, Blackbird....the etc. is TBD), and came across this band across the left pond:

Cool! Didn't know about that site, thanks for that. Thursday was obviously the night to be there, but that's a great spread of tunes across all three nights.
