re: the setlist, I think Even Rats was played third, Children of December was the last song before the encore, there was another new song (a slow acoustic one) after Let There Be Horses. The SMMD tune was the one that I think is called Papa Came Rolling Home. Have to agree that the setlist was kind ...

It's a tune of their own, from the Applause Cheer Boo Hiss EP. Not a cover of the BSS song of the same name, nor the LCD Soundsystem song of the same name, nor the Pavement song of the same name... Although Lizzie from Land of Talk did do a lovely job as the go-to girl for Broken Social Scene on the...

Being back in Southeastern Mass for holidays always makes me think of the Westport shoutout in Predicting the Rain, so I'd love to hear that. And I always cross my fingers for Driving Backwards with You, since that remains THE song of theirs that I've never ever heard them play--funny since it's pro...

I saw Land of Talk open for Broken Social Scene last fall in Montreal and they were great. I'm a huge fan of both their EPs and their full-length. I'm a big fan of theirs, and even more excited now that Andrew's playing drums for them.

agreed, I was there and it crossed my mind that SMMD would've fit in perfectly with bands like Deer Tick, Low Anthem, Avett Bros, Elvis Perkins...all of whom played great and had huge turnouts.

As a fan of sonic experimentation and sounds I've never heard before, I have to go with The Slip. but as a fan of solid alt-country, folk, and rock songs, I have to go with SMMD.

lol really? so automatically if u have a backing band your going to sound like you do on your studio albums? in fact if u look back at earlier set lists like in 99' you see them playing with a trumpet player... its called constructive criticism tyler I've seen them play with guests with my own eyes...

because then they would sound exactly like they do on record, and if that was the case then you could just sit at home with the CD and save yourself the cost of a ticket.

whatever happened to Apollo Sunshine?

seems like they disappeared after their last album, which was surprising because I saw it getting really good reviews, though I can't say I liked it too much. haven't seen them touring much, which is weird since they used to tour all the time. are they on "hiatus" or what?

It's out June 30. I thought it was okay--doesn't have a distinctive sound the way every other Wilco album's had, sounded more like a mix of all of their previous sounds. I only listened to it when the stream was up at their website, but I thought it had more highlights than Sky Blue Sky. Bull Black ...
