I might stick around for Saturday, depends what the driving situation looks like and how lazy I am... that's going to be one long weekend of driving. But we're traveling light, because they're entirely instrumental they can do without a pa. Oh, I should note the one thing we don't have anymore is re...

An update for Pat: The Japhy dates around Lumberjam are now: 07/19 at John and Peter's in New Hope PA, 07/20 at I Brewed It My Way in Wyoming PA, 07/21 at Lumberjam and 07/22 at The Pittsburgh Cafe (in Pittsburgh). Posters have been sent, but promotion by word of mouth is always a huge help if you (...

I tend to be pretty rough on them (they get kicked around my car, etc...) so I go with the cheaper ones. I've also had much better luck with the cassette adapters than with (cheaper) radio transmitters, as some of those can be really touchy on the signal or have annoying static at higher volumes.

Mmmm... so jelous. I've been listening to a lot of SMMD lately... wish I could've been there. Someone should kidnap Nathan and drag him out here to the other coast.

Ha. "bunch of hippies?"! Who the hell writes this column? Sounds like whoever it was has heard From the Gecko and saw an old press photo of Brad with long hair and a beard. I'm surprised no one's left any comments over there... all those Guitar Hero kids probably wouldn't take light...

Flaming Lips/ OSHEAGA fest in Montreal

I know there's some Flaming Lips fans among the Slip crowd... anyone hitting up any of dates this fall? http://www.flaminglips.com/content/live/td_index.php? UVM is bound to be one weird show. It's a bit expensive for a show at a basketball gym, where the sound is gauranteed to be less than ideal, b...

Yup, we stopped by and caught some of Grimis' second set. Sounded pretty good.

So much for setlist variety. Yeah, but that's no surprise for these two particular shows. They were one set with the potential for exposure to people outside of the usual fanbase. The setlists from their nights opening for the Allman Borthers were similar too: 08/20/2004: Meadowbrook Farm: Gilford,...

Ok, looking at that issue right now... let's see... 'Dear Relix' letters to the editor can be sent to letters AT relix DOT com . It took me a while to find the blurb about it. It's in the section titled "Soundcheck: live reviews and news from around the globe" compiled by Dean Budnick. In ...

May of '77 is probably my favorite GD era, although I tend to fall in with the '05/08 is overrated' line of thinking. Thanks for the reminder, it's been too long since I've broken out those shows. For a while I was trading all of the '77 shows I could get my hands on and I think I burnt myself out o...

Ha. Too bad I'm not in NY, nor am I Jewish.

Why does that sound like it has potential to be a cheesey reality show? I'm surprised MTV hasn't offered to tape it.

Ouch. That hurts. I love how they have to state on the pre-order website "Please buy only what you need. Next time it might be you buying them on ebay." Ironically, those ticketmaster glitches are how I've gotten tickets before. The most memorable was the first post-hiatus Phish show... no...

Yup. Never seen them and don't want to miss the chance. I'm going to try for one of the two nights in Montreal. W.A.S.T.E lists them as sold out, but the venues may still have tickets direct (mine doesn't go on sale till noon). I hate ticketmaster. Even if I rationalize my tickets being in Canadian ...
