I keep coming back to how gorgeous this record is - in composition (music and lyrics), performance, and production. It's a beauty and I can't stop listening to it.

Old Mythologies might be my favorite, but Devil's Harp and Beggar in the Morning, too.

My my my, what a treat.

Some Are Lakes is a really great record, but I haven't heard the others. With Andrew Barr on drums and Justin Vernon producing, it's definitely worth a listen.

Great stuff! Super creative. A groovier, female version of Andrew Bird? Maybe, but she stands on her own. Thanks for the tip.

I can't stop listening to her. One review I read of the album Lhasa said something like, "The melodies are familiar and irresistible, and yet totally original." That is so true on songs like Rising and Love Came Here, and on other songs. The haunting and soulful quality of her voice is ano...

The harp is a beautiful instrument.

Great lyric in the song Rising.

OMGCD is a great record. As someone else mentioned, I can do without the Tom-Waits-ish rockers, but the rest of the stuff is great - some of it really gorgeous and impressive. The lyrics and vocal performance on the song "Charlie Darwin" make it an especially beautiful piece, to me anyway:...

I'd consider it. Maybe you can provide a vehicle for interested parties to sign up for information updates by e-mail off-list.

Brad's Acoustics

Does anyone know what kind of acoustic guitars Brad uses? I'm particularly interested in the instruments used on "The Fall Apartment" - I believe at least one of them is a nylon-string instrument. I'd love to know the brand/model, etc. I'll soon be in the market for a hybrid classical guit...
