I don't usually go to a show on NYE. But I must say this was a disappointing year for me and the Slip too. Because I am a working stiff and have family obligations, Burlington VT it is my main outlet for music. They haven't played Burlington (at least I don't think) in almost a year. In a couple wee...

thanks so much for the gem from 2002. Some of the older shows are harder to come by these days. Much appreciated.

I am sure I'll get slammed since I don't dig these other bands mentioned but for me my vote goes to Medeski Martin and Wood. I fruking love those guys and they just keep pumping out new songs that torch my soul. WHAT ABOUT THE SLIP???? I think they have had an incredible decade. And hey, this decade...

yeah, I really enjoyed listening to this one. Loved the opener of 'More Intense > Lots of Socks. Great to see 'More Intense' back in the rotation, let's hope it stays. Ditto for 'Before You Were Born'.

I saw Frisell last tuesday in Burlington at the Higher Ground. He was freaking unreal. Probably the best show I've seen in the past few years.

My 5 year old son has been listening to both the Slip and SMMD for a few years now. Right now he loves 'Even Rats'. 'Before You Were Born', '74', 'Mardi Gras' and 'Yeahy Yeah' are other favorites of his.

I've dug the Beatles covers they've done in the past, especially 'Happiness is a Warm Gun'. second choice would be Steely Dan's 'Black Cow', or have they done that one before? I can hear Brad's vocals ...
