Re: How about a hosting plan?
Jason, I just got a new TB drive on eSATA I can bring up when I visit on 10/10 and leave it with you long enough to copy everything...or do I need 2 TB or how much? Then I can upload from here and minimize your work time. Also if you want to go that route, let me know your fastest disk interface......

I still have all the files, but no real time or bandwidth to host the ftp anymore. If you want to host one I'll gladly copy the files onto a hard drive or something for you..

When I watched it again this morning I thought it sounded better than when I was drunk on whiskey last night. Sendspace or YouTube ? I totally agree. Brad was extremely nervious, perhaps more so than I've ever seen him. As such, he was his own worst enemy, and the first verse was in the wrong regis...

I think hoby covered the areas to check quite well, actually. It's probrably something simple like the input not turned up on the line in channel of the sound card. Windows includes a little test app called sound recorder - you might want to try it first, since it's the simplest thing out there. Pro...

What mixing board do you have there gathering dust? It's a yamaha ramsa. Not bad, not great - but does the job well enough for it's time. Isn't that incredible? It just proves that it's talent and creativity, rather than gear, that makes great art. In fact, the limitations of gear can increase crea...

Has it been a while since you tried digital audio on a PC hoby? Because things changed a few years back. I was living with Marc at the time and he decided to get a multitrack system. I had spent many a night setting up and debuging Brad and Andrews system over the years, so I set aside several hours...

Emergence, by Steven Johnson. It's a great book covering emergent behavior in many different systems, from ant colonies and slime molds, to modern cityscapes. If you've never heard of emergent behavior, it's basically the idea that hundreds of agents with simple behaviors interacting (like, say, ant...

You might be surprised to find that you already have much of what you need to record on your current PC. Since all your looking to do is record a few layered tracks, and your not worried about it being ultra high quality, then the sound card on your PC will probrably be proficient. Most sound cards ...

Re: ISO: 09/04/1998 High Sierra (Late Night Tent)
I have it, and the date is actually 9/5/98. It's still on DAT though, but maybe one day I'll dust of the deck and convert it..
