[BT] Built To Spill 2009-10-06/07 - Toronto, ON

Post: # 23891Post bradm »

I was burning copies of a couple of Built To Spill recordings I made in 2009 in Toronto, and decided to re-seed the torrents of them. So:

Built To Spill
Tuesday, October 6, 2009
Lee's Palace

Source: Superlux Superlux CM-H8K/Cs (see notes) > Edirol UA-5 (DIY digi-mod,44.1kHz) > optical > Creative Nomad JB3 (WAV)
Transfer: Creative Nomad JB3 > SB1394 > Creative Soundblaster Audigy > Creative Play Center > CDWav > normalize -b (+2.6db) > FLAC Frontend (Level 8)

d1t04 Time Trap
d1t05 In The Morning
d1t06 Reasons

d2t03 Wherever You Go
d2t04 Carry the Zero
d2t05 call for encore
d2t06 Car
d2t07 You Were Right
d2t08 Goin' Against Your Mind

Notes:
1. The mics were clamped to a vertical pipe at the back of the sound
board/booth. They were about 7' off the ground, a couple of feet
right-of-centre, splayed in about a 70* X/Y, with about an 8"
vertical separation between the mic capsules.
2. I'm very unfamiliar with BTS songs, so wasn't able to get many
track titles.

Taped and transferred by BradM (bradmcmail@yahoo.ca).

[1] The first 30 (or so) seconds are missing.

Notes:
1. The mics were clamped to a vertical pipe at the back of the sound
board/booth. They were about 7' off the ground, a couple of feet
right-of-centre, splayed to point to the right and left ends of the
stage (sort of NOS), with about an 8" vertical separation between
the mic capsules.
2. The show, with encore, was one big set.
3. Thanks to jahdawg for the set list, and for being there recording
alongside me.

Taped and transferred by BradM (bradmcmail@yahoo.ca).
These are, in my opinion, among the best-sounding recordings I've ever made. Enjoy!

Aloha,
Brad

These were great shows in Toronto with the first night being especially intense at times. No, you can;t go wrong with some LIVE BTS.

If anyone is interested, my recording http://bt.etree.org/details.php?id=539127 of another BTS still has a seeder! There is a cover of 'Ripple'.

No more seeder :( Looks like I just missed it. I was going to seed it for a bit after I finished, too.

I was burning the Toronto shows for Chris Paul (we're recording Charlie Hunter tonight), and being able to burn and give him your Higher Ground recording (with it including "Ripple," a song they didn't play in either of the Toronto shows) will be a nice bonus. Thanks!

Aloha,
Brad
