judging from what is written on theslip.com, will this be essentially the barr brothers + Marc?

I believe the two bands did/will do 2 separate sets. The Barr Brothers then The Slip.

i enjoyed listening to the set... kind of like a hybrid of an Eisenhower show and a HSMF setlist. short and sweet though. Hoping someone caught the Barr Brothers show too!

Yes it seems they had a limited set time so they did a couple Ike tunes, a couple new ones and some oldies but goodies. Overall very well played IMO though they do need to rehearse the end of Solomon, I feel they've train-wrecked the end of it a little bit the last few times I've heard it live or on recording.

As far as the Rode mics they aren't the best mics by a long shot though they do give a lot of bang for your buck for the taper on a budget. Same for MXL which are even cheaper. I don't think you'll find much better at their price point. Someday I'd love to get a nice pair of mics, I really like the microtech gefells.

Harry, I'm a proud owner of an NT4. I only tape my friends' bands because the rest of my setup is not very mobile. The mic definitely does the trick for me, and I think it can produce some great tapes for sure.

I just found it funny that even over in Japan... there they are!

Yeah I love mine! It is very versatile. Works well in the back of the room for a straight Audience, plop it onstage, use it for drum overheads. I wish it had a little heftier bass response though.
