I thought I'd quickly mock up some guidelines. This was something I had learned after being shown the light by folks from etree. They like seeds to have some sort of continuity in terms of naming files. Of course this is no big deal but it ca nbe helpful for collectors and such.
For now I'm just gonna assume that you know how to create the torrent file. This info is more about naming of files.
for a Slip show the abbreviation you would use is "slip" I personally leave it lowercased cause it looks prettier
The more important issue is the dates. This info exists somewhere in a FAQ but in a nutshell you would use this format:
slip2005-12-04d1t01
so you have "band" then "year" "-" "month" "-" "day" "disk#" "track"
Notice how there are no empty spaces and the dash for dates. Even if a disk has less then 10 tracks people put a zero before the track number. This comes in most handy when there is more than 10 tracks.
Fingerprint. For FLAC files there is a function of codec's that produce a fingerprint. Waht this does is to make a text file that can be used to quickly verify the integrity of the files. Simularly an MD5 checksum can be created. This is very useful for future tracking and obviously integrity checks.
