Hey I would like to know what mics are good for recording amps. If a decently expensive condenser would do the trick.

Dan,

Why are you thinking of a condensor? I would recommend an SM57 or Sennheiser e609 for inexpensive guitar amp mics... Any reason you don't want to use these?

I erased the other thread. I don't know how to merge them yet. Gotta brush up on the mod skills soon I guess. Dan, feel free to PM me as well...

Hey, I do some work in studios and figured I'd lend a heads up as well...my best advice for you would be to put a 57 in close...if you want to get creative and add a bit larger of a sound to your mix, consider throwing a Sennheiser 421 (facing sideways) in close as well. Just what I do. I don't think a condensor is needed, but that's just me.
