The 2/4/04 (actually 4/2/04 according to SlipBase) is AMAZING!!! Anyone who is on the fence about it, download it. Listening to the Sorry right now, it is completely transcendent, even has a a little "If I only had a brain" tease.... now seguing into With and Without you with Mike Dillon on percussion... SWEET!

Oops - thanks for catching that. It is definitely the April 2nd 2004 show, I just misnamed the folder.

And you're right, Sorry > With or Without You kicks some serious monkey butt.

I always loved that opener. They played it the night before in Cleveland, then PGH, and I think never again.

So sad.

Pete- Congratulations on the best thing to ever come out of Rock Falls!

thanks a lot for these shows. you're a good person.

I have to use IE on my laptop, which is what I downloaded this 2004 show to.

I just clicked on the zip file, then hit save so it would save to the desktop, but when it finished, it didn't show up, and searching for yielded nothing. any ideas?

IE saves downloaded files to a temporary file first, (which probably has a meaningless name like "oeifjawe9ew92", and could be located anywhere in the Temporary Internet Files folders), and finally copies the data over to the desktop once the download has completed. It sounds like something went wrong when it tried to move the temporary file to the desktop. You're best bet is probably to just download the show again, but if that's not an option you can try an advanced search for files with the following properties:
1. Modified today
2. At Least 200000 KB
Make sure that the options to search System Folders and to search Hidden files are enabled.
Then, if you find a strange-looking file that has recently been created you can copy it to the desktop, give it a ".zip" extension, and try to unzip it.

Even then, it's a crapshoot.

Man, I hate IE.

I posted the FLAC files for five more shows today at http://theslip.rockfallspark.com/flac/index.htm, and am currently uploading MP3's of the shows, which will be available at http://theslip.rockfallspark.com/mp3/index.htm in a day or two. They are older shows than the last batch, most of which were given to me by etahn many moons ago.

Does anyone happen to have a good recording of the 2002-12-30 show with the Howling Monkey horns? I was thinking of posting it, but I don't have any information on the source of my copy, and it seems like it might be a second-generation recording (there are some DAE errors here and there, even though the MD5 signatures check out)

If there are better sources out there, I don't want to pollute the pool. If not, it's a great show and I'll post it.

Here are the md5 signatures:

I just have 12/30 as .mp3, I know Jeff has it as a .shn set and I will be doing a trade with him sometime soon (when I get my act together.) What are the DAE flaws? It is a great show.

Thanks for these BTW! I love '03 shows...

First, you need to decide if you want mp3s, or if you want to burn the shows to CDs.

1. MP3s
The simplest way is to go to download one of the "Zip File" links on the right-hand side of http://theslip.rockfallspark.com/mp3/index.htm. Unzip the resulting zip file, and you've got the MP3's for an entire show.

Otherwise, try a download manager like Firefox's DownThemAll! (http://www.downthemall.net/) to download the mp3 files directly from one of the directories linked to on the left-hand side of the page.

2. Burn to CDs
In this case, you'll need to download all of a show's FLAC files from one of the directories listed on http://theslip.rockfallspark.com/flac/index.htm. You can download the files one at a time from your browser, but you'll probably want to use a download manager like DownThemAll!. Then you'll need to decode the files to WAV files so that your CD burning application can burn the music as CD-Audio. To do this, check out http://flac.sourceforge.net/.
