I've read good reviews for Seagate also. Western Digital seems to suck ass.

I recently bought a Seagate 300GB internal and a separate USB2.0 enclosure for it. It was cheaper that way than buying one in its own enclosrue. Got away for about $250.

And it's so great to be able to store tons and tons of music. I've been hogging Ozwidth ever since I got it.

There are usually decent sales on drive. I have a bunch. I also back up on DVDR and CDR. I thnk I have at least 400GB of external drives that are usually always full of projects and whatnot. Many times it is cheaper to get an internal drive and a enclosure and put it together yourself. If your not recording directly to it speed is not as much of an issue but you should still get 7200rpm firewire with the oxford 911 or better chipset and extra cache if you want to be pretty quick with tracksfers, or wqork off the drive. If you don't already back up to DVDR you might want to start trying that too.

thanks

I like to walk out of a store with something when I have the chance. Check out http://www.salescircular.com. It tracks some sales flyers for major stores and you plug in your local and click on what your looking for. It lists current sales and/or rebates.

done and done
