One of these days I really want to go back to a lot of my recordings and master them with my current tools and skills. This was a real classic performance that I would love to be able to go back to revisit. The true good old days.

To the rescue again, Cleantone!
Interesting to hear you say you'd like to go back and mix them again. What new skills have you acquired and how would it change the sound??

I guess that all depends. A lot of my older recordings I completed hastily and often the morning after a show. For fast turn around. But even beyond that I have better equipment these days and a lot more experience. Also software has come a long way over the years. I started making live recordings over 20 years ago after all. I also have a lot of never mixed multitracks. I always thought I would have time later not knowing time would be be even more difficult to come by later in life. Now I worry my so called "life's work" will never be completed. I'd like to get my podcast back up. I bought a new place and am doing a full renovation. My studio is still untouched and my gear and collection is boxed up. I recently bought a 42TB (42,000GB) network storage rig and filled it right up without making much of a dent to my varied archive. I thought I would fit a lot more on it. I need space to organize everything.

I would definitely contribute to a GoFundMe that bought you some time and allowed you to (re)master for the group :)

On another note, seeing The Barr Brothers @ Field Trip Music Festival in Toronto next weekend. Very stoked.

Seriously Clinton how can I help?

Listened to the smmd show that started this thread and it sounds as great as I remember. Even if you don’t get back to remastering everything, a lot of these sound so great already. Gets me nostalgic for way back in college when I was getting into trading and burning CDs from SHN files. The sound has a lot of charm
