There's a song I'm trying to decide the fate of. I think my new record may be better off without it, but some friends are telling me to keep it. I'd love to know how it hits ya. It's called "Help Wanted" and you can hear it following the link below.
I've heard this song before, maybe on percyboyd.com. I know because I really like the chorus and I've had it stuck (stuck makes it sound like a bad thing, but it's not) in my head several times since. Listening to this time I actually hear the rest of the lyrics a lot better. This seems like a much better version than the one I heard before and I hope it appears on any upcoming albums. Glad to hear another album is in the works.
I'm a big fan of that artwork. The song is cool too. Without hearing everything I'd say keep it. Sometimes a song may work on its own and not on an album and sometimes the album will make the song stronger, its hard to tell.
But based off what we have here I'd say she's a keeper.
I need to listen to it a few more times before I could say for sure. It is very slow so I would suggest it be placed between a couple of faster numbers. Great lyric (as always.) There was (is?) a different version up on percyboyd.com. Nathan - you're so prolific it is hard to keep up with ya! Keep it comin' though, you've written some of my favorite songs.
For the love of troubadours, Nathan, please put this on the album! It is a fantastic song and the recording is superb! It's a great ballad and I like how the acoustic builds up as it goes along, the organ is sweet, nice rhythm...flows right along. This could go anywhere on the album. The vocals are awesome, too!! Please keep it on there. More is the new less.
BTW, is that your artwork? I gotta say it reminds me of Maurice Sendak. Cool stuff...I hope that's the album art.
