The Slip + Broken Social Scene

Just listening to BSS' "K C Accidental" which sounds shockingly similar (the extended intro at least) to Even Rats.....call me crazy

Yeah they're similar, but not nearly as bad as that Brothers Past song that rips the vocal melody and the lyrics from the same song...

Definatly a nod to the BSS song tho...

If you listen to early versions of Even Rats the drumbeat is a straight rip where as post eisenhower they tweaked it a little to make it their own

other BSS ripoffs...

Old "paper Birds" bridge is a nod to Anthem of a 17year old girl, theyve since made it more their own (like the Rats drum beat). The lyrics "This is the blood i want to shed" in Birds and "They crushed the kids" in Shouters. both are phrases I first heard in BSS songs and have not heard anywhere else....except in these SLip songs.

Everybody gets inspired and steals a bit...nothing new
