Rest In Peace beautiful Lhasa de Sela

Post: # 22811Post discofrank »

We just lost a wonderful soul. Montreal artist and singer Lhasa de Sela passed away this january 1st 2010 after a long struggle with cancer. She was only 37 years old. She was a friend of the Barr brothers and Andrew played in her band. Please celebrate her life by playing the wonderful music she gave us. Here are a few songs with Andrew from this last April...

Great stuff. Extremely soulful.

Thanks for the tip.

The harp is a beautiful instrument.

Great lyric in the song Rising.

I was rising up
Hitting the ground
And breaking.

RIP

I can't stop listening to her.

One review I read of the album Lhasa said something like, "The melodies are familiar and irresistible, and yet totally original." That is so true on songs like Rising and Love Came Here, and on other songs.

The haunting and soulful quality of her voice is another matter!

I'm looking forward to many more hours of exploring her music - especially the foreign language records. Thanks for this gift! I hope others benefit as well!
