I was listening to Bill Callahan's Woke on a Whaleheart yesterday and noticed the line "I could tell you about the river or you (we) could just get in" was borrowed for SMMD's "Home Away from Home".
Any Bill Callahan fan out there? His newest, Apocalypse, was one of my favorites of last year.
Can we count Nathan and the Barrs as fans of Mr. Callahan?
It's not improbable that they could've arrived at the lyric completely independently of each other, I suppose.

Re: Bill Callahan
I have a couple Smog albums that I dig but havent heard the album youre referring to, def have to check it out. citing some lyrical borrowing of broken social scene that brad has done in the past Id say its entirely possible he lifted this line.
"if there's one thing I know to be true, let what you love be what you do"
