Bluray has been on the horizon for a long time. They were just milking DVD's for a little longer. I must have heard about blueray at least 5 years ago. Been looking forward to it but who knows when and how much. I'm sure burners will be taked for a couple years. There are also people working on some sort of hologram storage medium that will hole more than blueray.
Holographic storage
Man, you guys are about 20 years behind the times! Flat storage tech is on the way out (but it might take another 20 years 'til it goes the way of vinyl).
Cubic nano-optical crystal storage is the way to go!
