Gun!

Check out this great version of a great tune (performed by JFJO (piano bass drums) with octave-pedal-bass on lead):

that whole album is spectacular. lots of great jazzy covers of some great tunes from Bjork, Brubek, Mingus, Hendrix, The Flaming Lips. also some great originals like Davey's Purple Powerline, Halliburton Breakdown, Santiago, and The Maestro.

This album is definitely worth checking out.

Very tight, clever covers, and great originals. Overall, the album is very crisp, succint, and hard-hitting, but also refreshing and light, unlike some of their previous albums (which are still real good).

I have the album too and am not really that huge a fan of it. I've listened to it thru under 10 times I would say and I've been waiting for it to grow on me but it still hasn't. Of course I'll keep trying. There is also a great interview with the band discussing the new album:

However, the bonus disc that came with it, Improv for the Ghosts, is fucking awesome.[/url]

No bonus disc came with the CD that I bought.

Where did you get your copy?

I think the Bonus disc came with order from the Home Grown Music Network -- at least that's where mine came from.
