MMJ - sell out Avalon?

Post: # 12550Post headnugg »

Can't decide whether to buy adv tix to this show. I DON"T want to buy from T-bastard and am not sure I will have the time to get to Avalon or the Orpheum to buy in person. I suppose if I wait until the show it's a risk.

What ya'll think?

I tried to do this as a poll, but I guess it didn't work.

How the hell do you create a poll?

Well, let's just pretend it's a poll.

I think the show stands a good chance of selling out, as last time MMJ played Boston(avalon) it was packed. NOw they're adding the slip.

Buy your tickets now and pay the fee...consider it insurance. Knowing you're all set is worth the 20% or whatever for these legendary bands! I would kick myself hard if I took a chance and blew it. I'm not one for supporting TicketBastard, but it is a service and it helps manage the shows (for the venue but also for the band). Buying at the last minute is like saying I'm not sure I want to go really so if they sell out it wasn't meant to happen. But if it sells out it's because it's a kick-ass show!!! So there's the rub: to buy or not to buy? But what is the question?

I'm not gonna lie and say it's not about the money, but it's also equally about not buying from T-bastard. I don't like to support them unless I absolutely have to. Like if the Stones ever play the orpheum again(maybe the best show of my life) I'll be up that morning with two phones and two computers. I'm just being lazy right now by not going to the venue. I'm stubborn enough to risk it just so I don't have to make a special trip to avalon.

I'm thinking that while this show could sell out it probably woudn't be until night of, or maybe a little while before the actual show day.....

Anyone ever listen to The Carter II? THat's a great fucking album, no joke.

I don't know if they sold Berklee out (I'd doubt it), but I live in Burlington VT and they sold out Higher Ground Monday...my plan was to buy tickets from Pure Pop the same time I bought Eisenhower but no dice.

Dies - really, who buys adv. tix for jammy club shows? If the Red Hot Chili Peppers play the Garden I know to buy adv. tix, but for a club show, unless it's some crazy shit like JT playing Avalon, there's usually never a need for adv. tix. I just saw John Legend at Avalon last SAT. night, totally sold out, I snagged one from a scalper for face without even trying. Though I suppose this will be different......I'm not sweating it, I KNOW I'll be inside Avalon that night, one way or another.......

and YES, confirmed, MMW/SCO have sold out Berklee. Very impressive.
