i saw them open (for about 15 minutes; got there late) for broken social scene and it was really really good. for being at the e-factory, the sound was great. i would say they're known for their dynamics and they hit every change. now i am excited cause i'm going to see them headline at the church in philly.

I caught them at Cafe Du Nord in SF a few years ago - and wasn't blown away, but have enjoyed their recordings, so I'd be down to see them again.

I'll be seeing them in Northampton MA this Saturday. I saw them a few years before and remember that they all play multiple instruments and create a sweeping sound that is ideal for day dreaming. Good stuff!

They are coming to my school (UCONN) tonight (Friday) to play an intimate show (only 120 tickets) in our art museum. The show is Co billed with the Firey Furnaces, a brother and sister duo. I think they are all playing their sets together should be fun. I'll let you know how it goes.

Caleb, I went to UConn and I'm pretty sure we once discussed the Slip.

I'd go back up to see Do Make but I harbor a deep hatred of the furnaces. That, combined with a bunch of my friends playing a gig the Bury means I'm pretty much not going to go, but it's awesome to have bands play in that museum.

Just got back. AWESOME SHOW. What a great band, they can put me in a great space like no one else. Played a near perfect setlist (all of the new album, most of Winter Hymn, and REITSCHULE!) and damn fun to watch, too. Everyone else who's planning to see them: you'll enjoy it. Pictures are up in my Picasa album, but things didn't go well and most of them came out awful. :(

You should get all their albums especially Winter Hymn Country Hymn Secret Hymn. The new one is great but I'm not quite sure if it's on the same level as all the others- it was a where do you go from here type thing hence the addition of vocals (although the current Exclaim! magazine www.exclaim.ca - feature on them explains how they 'jammed' the lyrics with other songwriters).

the show at the ottobar was pretty good. it was a little more mellow than when i saw them open for BSS, but i enjoyed it.
