40 Watt Club

just got home from the show. it was rippin. i didn't write down the setlist, but i'll try to remember. here it goes:

Heartbreaker
Ooh Belle
Portrait of Scientist As A Young Man
Paper Birds
Children of December
Life In Disguise w/ Leslie Helpert on backup vocals
Snowfall/I Was Designed w/ Leslie Helpert singing and Brad on backup
Soft Machine
Even Rats
If One Of Us Should Fall

encore:
Black Telephone
There's A Lie > Happy Birthday to Marc sang by me and the rest of the crowd > There's A Lie

I think there was a few more, but that's all I can recall. The crowd wasn't huge, but it was much better than the Smith's Olde Bar show I saw some months back. I did notice several local musicians there. This band is definitely a musician's band. It takes a little while for some people to catch on to what the slip is doing, but musicians seem to be blown away right off the bat.

My favorite moments of the night was the original blue air, and the jam out of Paper Birds (i think). start to finish, Paper Birds was the highlight. also, There's A Lie was great. i was great on vocals during the birthday song.

good night.

cleantone, do you know if the 40 Watt show was recorded? i don't think it was, but like i said, i didn't really look.

also, i can't wait to hear the studio versions of Ooh Belle, There's A Lie and Portrait of a Scientist.

No idea. I made no effort to get this tour recorded. I doubt it. It is easiest to look while your in the room. I would love to hear that track with Leslie...

haha. it certainly would've been easier to look while I was in there, but I was a tad distracted by the band on stage. i'm amazed that i forgot to turn aroud and look just 15 feet behind me, but that's the case. i'm sure someone with the band would've noticed, don't ya think?

i edited the setlist. after a quick search on her sight, i figured out that the LH song was Snowfall/I Was Designed. you can listen to her version on her website.

Yeah. That tune is awesome. Wish I saw that one live! WOW. Go buy Cupcakes and Radishes if you do not already own it. The Slip are on the record too...

Also check out Pegasus Moth's Weave / Goodboy that was recorded in my old living room a few years ago. She played for me and some friends for like 4 hours.
