I think I read that Dr. Dog has a new album coming out pretty soon. Interested in it, although the last album didn't do a whole lot for me compared to their previous efforts. It's hard to say if anything of theirs will ever top Easy Beat. That album is pure magic.

Here's what been getting me thru late November.
Gentle Giant - song: "Think of me with Kindness" - on the album "Octopus", also their album "Interview". It's old and NOT new, but I think it sounds pretty fresh.
Also, Fleet Foxes new album, and a band called Nice Nice and their album "Extra Wow", Sun Kil Moon's "Ghosts of the Great Highway" (a classic fall in New England album, IMO) and... oh it's not so new but it might shake things up for you: the album "Welcome to the Night Sky", by Wintersleep. It's a classic.

Are you guys into the Jayhawks? They're one of the names I hear when Alt-Country is brought up. I started listening to their self-titled album, and so far...I don't get the appeal...
I was giving A Calores by Tristeza a spin yesterday. Someone mentioned them when I was talking about The Album Leaf. I dig it so far. Not quite the same sound, but pretty good nonetheless.
I post on a couple other forums, and one of the members from hauntingmids.com (for any one you who may be guitar gear junkies, you might have heard of the epic fuzzes that are built from that community), John Nels just put together a new album called Under City Lights. He's out of Portland, ME. He's got a hell of a voice. You can listen to it via bandcamp here:
http://johnnels.bandcamp.com/album/under-city-lights
Another one I really dug was some real cool folk snippets a guy on reddit posted a few weeks back. I really dig 2 Poor Boys (coincidence, I would take it) and the chorused out sound to it...epic tape warble:
http://stevepalmer.bandcamp.com/ The playing on it reminds me of a mix of Brad's playing, and a guy named Glenn Jones who was in the band Cul-de-Sac (saw him open for Yo La Tengo back in October....really dug him).
