bouncing an idea...
Can I make a suggestion... with sliplive bound to see a lot more traffic... Should it be mandatory to have a login?? It's not anything difficult and it would help prevent a huge amount of Trolling (except for the usual colorful cast of characters... )????

anon and anon
Well, there's really no point in shutting down anon posts if folks don't cause trouble. As I've shown before, "anon" to the Board is not "anon" to the Site Admin, so I don't anticipate any trouble here. Allowing only registered posters to Shows and Reviews seems to be a suitable policy. (This also means stealth gigs posted elsewhere will be deleted.)
As for SlipLive traffic and board management, I appreciate the consideration, but taking votes on these things isn't necessary unless there's a problem. So in this case, let the board evolve normally and we'll take action if needed.
You can see activity increase with the number of reads...we won't ever get even 50% of the people to sign up as less than a majority have anything to say or are afraid to post anything. We'll hit that 200 mark soon enough, however.
There are various reasons why people don't post, and some of these are:
1. Don't have anything to say
2. Why bother since Pat will respond to everything
3. I'm afraid to post because of the meanies who will snub me
4. I am not smart enough to setup a profile
5. I am too lazy to setup a profile
6. My profile is an invasion of privacy and some spooky dude will track me down and start recording my phone conversations.
7. My donkey was eaten a long time ago and I said it all before.
8. I have my reasons, and they are on a "need to know basis"
