To explain my self better, these photos have a certian, almost unexplanible feel to them that is really strong and bold. the MMJ picture thats listed on here just shoots me the force they bring.
The last one with the flute the lighting on the hands really accent the picture.
I love that one of brad as well, capturing the perfect moment.
I cannot wait to see more with the new gear, i guess it does make a differnce. High Sierra is one of the best kept secrets. Bonnaroo has turned into a pop festival where the mainstream goes now, just wish berkfest was still around.....

ah yes, berkfest was awesome, but the NY kids could only run around the woods naked, smacked out of their minds, only for so long...
perhaps a whole 'nother topic. 'the crazy things i saw in the berkfest woods'

Phrazz - that mmj photo above, and particularly that shot of jim james in the other thread are seriously professional looking band shots.
I eagerly await getting to check out your photos....I saw you all over the place camera in hand, thanks for sharing all of your efforts!
nice getting to say hey - maybe next year we'll have a sliplive meet up at the swimming hole (assuming the fest is still in quincy)

Hey Morgan,
Your photos are wonderful -- thank you for sharing them with us.
I just found the main site photos from Sueshi, and Davids Vann and Licht and I don't think I'm good enough to be "official" comparatively. We'll see, but I don't mind just buying the big ticket to not have to hassle with grovelling for access. Or I could work on the beer crew...or...maybe not. Too much responsibility? The photos are my focus (ha ha) -- hard to be bipolar.
To Sara: yeah, I'm thinking about it, but it's a bit of work. I have trouble picking the best shots and with so many, it takes a very long time. I have to start towards more pro work, but that may involve weddings and such. I can't justify the cost of equipment from just selling prints, but maybe in a few years I'll have enough people who like them though I think going with "contract" photography is a better business venture (ie, paid shoots where arrangements are made beforehand). But I'll try that route eventually.
I guess based on some of the pros that it's ok to use fill flash at times. I caught some older guys doing this and I'm sure their shots came out great. That MMJ shot could have used a touch of flash...Jim was way in the dark beyond any possible lighting rigs (except a tracker spot, but I didn't see one of these out in the field). I still am a complete rookie with a flash but slowly I'm learning the ins and outs (they are way complicated).
-Take it easier,
Phrazz
