Barr Bros in brooklyn 6/4

Post: # 25443Post Kevin_Kjr »

Anyone check out this show? I randomly caught they were playing as part of summer stage and thought they would be the headlining act but were the opener. I caught about 45 minutes which were awesome. Small crowd maybe a couple hundred. After barr bros were done, the crowd stood up and applauded, unfortunately due to strict time stop, they couldnt play anymore songs to the disappointment to the crowd.

hey -

Actually they only played about 45 minutes, so I don't think you missed much of the set :-) I also assumed they'd headline so I ambled down there after work, and missed some. But as I approached I could hear Deacon's Son (a wicked guitar solo from what I could hear as I was somehow lost in the buildings near the park), then finally arrived to hear Darkness, Half Crazy, Come in the water, and Heroine, and I think that was it! All but Heroine had a very loose, jammy feel to them. Lots of space between songs with some lovely guitar or guitar/harp introductions. I wonder what happened to Andres?

Here's hoping for another Bowery Ballroom, or similarly sized performance in NYC soon! More Barr Bros please!
