Japhy Ryder Update

Post: # 9016Post Katie »

Alright, time for my semi-annual Japhy Ryder posting. Dates in VT,NY, etc coming up...

The big one is tonight, and I'll admit this one's a bit of shamelss self promotion... cause I get to see my work plastered all over town on the posters I designed. :)

Tonight 11pm-2am at the <a href="http://www.highergroundmusic.com" target="_blank">Higher Ground</a> Main Ballroom.

I know there aren't too many Slip-sters left in Burlington, but if any of you
are in town and go to O.A.R. instead, I will personally kick your butt. :x
(No offense to any O.A.R. fans out there, but support local music!)

Japhy is also in the running for a battle of the bands at Higher Ground, voting is at uvmrocks.com. Japhy hasn't come up for voting yet, but check out the site to see other Burlington bands too.

Outside VT:

02/17 Cyber Cafe West, Binghamton NY

02/18 Jimmy Mac's, Rochester NY

04/13 Kenny's Castaway New York, NY

More dates possibly added in Syracuse, Boston among other places this spring. Check http://www.japhyryder.com/tourdates.htm or http://www.myspace.com/japhyrydervt for more.

Oh yeah, and I can't forget Mardi Gras in Burlington 02/25. Parade and other events sponsored by Magic Hat. It's pretty much one large party in downtown Burlington with lots of public drunkeness. Good times.
Japhy plays at Nectars in the afternoon before and after the parade, tentatively between noon-4pm, details to come.

And should The Slip get out early (or start late) on 03/02 they'll be playing all night in nearby Winooski.

- shameless self-promotion ends here-

Now I'm wishing they chose Electioneering instead of National Anthem when deciding to do a Radiohead cover. (Although it would loose that key lyric as an instrumental cover.)

ps: I think the tracks up on UVMrocks are from the WWPV radio performance which is available here, if anyone's interested: http://www.archive.org/audio/etree-deta ... p?id=31844
