MMJ and the Slip at Avalon, I'm there.......
even though that place sucks. Don't know why MMJ insists on playing there.
Boston -> DC

Verrrry nice! And the biggest rock club in DC, no less.
They're both gonna light it up!!!

P.S.: 930 Club is about the only place big enough and MCI Center truly sucks. 930 gets the top acts...but not as nice a room as Ram's Head Live.

I'm not sure I want to go see them in some big venue where most of the people are totally indifferent (also I'm not a MMJ fan). But good for them, they should pick up a lot of new listeners.
Can't wait for the album, it sounds like they worked really hard, and it's just in time for the tour!

going to either philly or boston, I have a 7 hour drive from Ottawa.
which show should I go to?
With Boston being a hometown show, I would assume it would be pretty heavy. But what about the venues? What's a better venue for this show?
I haven't seen MMJ before, and it's taking THE SLIP opening for them to get me to see them

do both and it will be worth it.
from the looks of it, phily probably is a better venue. I think they are playing the avalon and at like 10pm it turns into a nightclub like asap they kick everyone out, and when you leave there are people lining up, so its like a strict 2 hours of music.
boston show might be b etter, but might be shorter... dig?

the only thing bad about avalon is the curfew.. i personally don't really enjoy e-factory, but they get the shows and i go to them. the acoustics aren't that good, considering it's an old warehouse.

I'd be interested to see MMJ try the Orpheum out, or at least I'd rather them play the Roxy than Avalon. Avalon sucks because they start their shows so fucking early so they can kick everyone out and open up the dance club. Who can make it to a show by 6PM on a weekday? MMJ at the Somerville Theater would be sick.

ewww! They do that at a venue here in Ottawa (Zaphod Beeblebrox) as well. usually they get 2 bands and cram them in from 9-11 and at 11pm sharp go straight to DJ'd music. I hate that kind of management.
Thanks for the sage advice. I'll pass the info on.

when i saw the announcement on the slip page, i thought they meant sept 24th, which is yesterday.
i would have cried a river for months if i had missed out on seeing these two bands together. thank god its not until november.
i certainly hope im in town that week and not in denver.
