Sigur Ros in Montreal

ahhh amazing show. the venue was just a stage set up on the edge of a pier in the Old Port, with an appropriately chilly breeze across the river and a stunning view of the Montreal skyline. the band played fantastically, they did a great job of recreating all the weird ethereal textures from their albums while also making a convincing switch from headphone listening to the live setting. setlist was heavy on Takk and Agaetis Byrjun, my two favorite albums of theirs, along with some of the newer cuts (which are half great and half lame, but whatever). i had goosebumps throughout--but maybe that was just the cold weather.
