*edited w/ cleantone's song titles*
Iron Horse Music Hall, Northampton, MA
1: intro* > D'Gary?^, Children of December**, Get Me with Fuji, Take the Bus?^, Airplane/Primitive, Vesuvius Fountains, Portrait of a Scientist as a young Man, Motherwolf, Wolof, If One of Us Should Fall
E: The Soft Machine, England?^
* w/ Cumulus teases. Brad appeared to have some kind of wire/string attached to either his guitar or pedal board that he moved up and down with his hand and it changed tones like a theremin....not really sure what was going on. ** w/ "February is for Tim, he's having a baby!" alternate lyric. ^ new tune, ftp.
I did my best with naming the new tunes but the vocals were pretty low in the mix all night so i couldnt really tell the lyrics. Clinton may have a better idea of names than me. The venue was about 60% full but the crowd seemed pretty in to it. It seems like they are forging ahead with some new material rather than rehashing some old gems. Brad alluded to this before the "Take the Bus" tune saying how they got together in Montreal to rehearse some old songs but ended up working on new material instead and joked "I hope you guys don't feel too much like guinea pigs tonight".

We had both international (2) and domestic tapers (1). The new songs don't really have titles Yet I guess. The reference titles as of last night would be...
1: intro (w/ Cumulus teases)* > D' Gary^, Children of December**, Get Me with Fuji, Take The Bus^, Airplane/Primitive, Vesuvius (or Vesuvius Fountains)^, Portrait of a Scientist as a Young Man, Mother Wolf, Wolof, If One of Us Should Fall
E: The Soft Machine, England^
Something like that.

Thanks for the setlist! Looks like it'll be a good listen one of these days
Can't believe they only half-filled the iron horse....that place is tiny! Hope they felt good about the show.

Actually without knowing for sure I would guess that it was 2/3 or better capacity. On a Wednesday night in the summer that isn't that bad. I've been there plenty of times when they don't even open the balcony.

sounds like it was an interesting show, im really excited to hear the new stuff
they would get together to rehearse old shit and end up writing new tracks, you never get what you're expecting with The Slip, they're constantly living up to their name

Sweet!!! I am totally psyched for a bunch of new tunes... Old chestnuts are great and all but new tunes bode well for the future of the Slip which is what makes me happy....
impressive song spread

Now we're importing tapers, too?
Wow...time periods all over the place! New/old, very new and very old.
I always smile when someone says "working titles". That's the truth...who knows which ones will stick?
I'm diggin' it!!!

BTW if any of you were wondering what happened to Cleantone's post of the show he was having some trouble with the torrent... It is uploading to my FTP so if it comes through clean I will re-seed.

I just listened to most of the show and like the 2 new tunes I heard, D'Gary and Take The Bus. I am a big fan of Mother Wolf though it does sound like Brad is straining a bit with how high the vocal is.
In general I think it is a great show, they sound tight and refreshed! My only complaint is it is a bit short... 1.7 hours. I don't expect them to do a big 2 sets or anything but 1.7 seems a bit skimpy.
