Nathan Moore Hippy Fiasco Rides Again - CREEPERS welcome

Post: # 23212Post harrymcq »

From Nathan's press release...

Nathan Launches Spontaneous “Hippy Fiasco Rides Again” Tour

“Hard times, ain’t just some old folk song,” writes Nathan Moore in the lead track off his 2009 album Folk Singer, and this week he’s publically demonstrating his belief that the antidote for hard times is community and creative solutions to problems. When he flew in to perform at an established festival in California this past weekend and discovered most of the main artists had pulled out for fear of not being paid, he did what Nathan Moore does best—he jumped in with both feet. “I think they need me,” he told his manager when discussing the options. So he went, knowing that like most artists struggling to make ends meet on tour, he risked losing money yet again. The festival meltdown illustrates the impact of hard times on festivals, musicians and fans alike, and Moore’s attitude shows he takes his role as everybody’s troubadour to heart.

Nathan now is calling on his California fans to pull together and help him by supporting a spontaneous 7-day tour to recoup expenses. The “Hippy Fiasco Rides Again” was assembled in barely 36 hours using social networking and text messages to spread the word and will include public and private shows. He and his tour manager worked completely from Nathan’s iphone, including creating this Hippy Fiasco Rides Again video to spread the word.

We had a fiasco on the first run, last fall in our backyard, it was great! I highly recommend it. They can play in your living room, backyard, bar, club, restaurant, boat, you name it. Pretty much all they need is a place to crash, some dinner, beer and whiskey and the money they can collect at the door. $10/person seems like a pretty standard fee. You get to hang out and party with one of the best songwriters out there! Private or public or somewhere in between. Nathan's crowd is generally pretty mellow though as far as inviting folks to your home. Feel free to PM me if you have any further questions about holding your own fiasco!

I give an endorsement of Hippy Fiasco at the beginning of this clip: (all of the webcasts are archived! for how long I don't know...)

FYI they are going to try and webcast the Davis sets tonight 6:15PM and 11PM (approx.) local Texas time which I believe is 2 hours off from pacific time. Not sure if there will be technical setbacks but worth checking hippyfiasco.com for sure.
