Nice! Thanks for posting this. I can't make it, but passed along the info to a friend who's going up to Montreal this weekend.

ps: If anyone going likes funk/soul/afro-beat, I recommend checking out the Budos Band that night too (their show is late). Their last show at Higher Ground was so good. http://popmontreal.com/en/artist/budos-band

'Tis a real chill place to anyone who is going...it is a loft rented by a fella named Gordon Allen, an avante-garde trumpter now living in these parts. Do not expect to find a club or anything, or even a sign, it is a non-discript upstairs loft. He offers out his spot for alot of jazz and experimental music, and it hearkens back to the ol' bohemian days where like-minded individuals would gather. I would imagine the free nature of the gig implies that a hat will be passed around at the end of the set.

Looking forward to a hometwon Barr's set!
