PACKED house, almost sold out but not quite. Capacity on the floor at GH is 500, I'd say it was very close to capacity. Major newspapers were in attendance and the show had an overall great vibe. Little Scream (fellow Montrealers) opened the show.

Setlist:
Intro > New song (slow fingerpicked intro, very melodic)
Old mythologies
Kisses from Chelsea
Deacon's son
Beggar In The Morning
Give The Devil Back His Heart (with Little Scream on bike spokes)
The Devil's Harp (with violinist and Little Scream)
Lord I Just Can't Keep From Cryin' (Blind Willie Johnson cover)
Darkness
New song (seemed to be about civil war, slow tune)
If You Leave Me (with Smoke On The Water tease)

Encore:
When You Got A Good Friend (Robert Johnson cover) (Sarah played some weird bowed instrument, no idea what the hell it was)

They seemed genuinely shocked by the reception Toronto gave. It was nice to see so many people in the audience tuned in, very quiet throughout when it called for it, very in tune during the rocking songs too.

Agreed. Drove up from Buffalo (I often wonder why I live in Buffalo and not Toronto) to attend and had a great time. Very cool to see Richard Parry of Arcade Fire as drummer for Little Scream.

Ten years ago, I can remember being 17 and borrowing a friend's ID to get into a 18+ Slip show in Rochester, NY. Now 27, I'm enjoying reflecting back and considering Brad and Andrew's evolution. IMHO, and likely shared by those on this board, they've got to be two of the most inventive and capable musicians out there. Glad to see that their hard work is paying off with success and recognition.

I'll keep showing up for as long as they keep playing.
