Barr Brothers - Massey Hall [06/12/2012]

Beggar In The Morning
Old Mythologies
Kisses From Chelsea
Deacon's Son
Darkness Has Arms
Give The Devil Back His Heart
Show started off great, typical ambient Beggar opening, but once Andrew started kicking his bass drum it took a turn for the worse. Bass drum completely overpowered Brad's vocals and guitar during this tune and Old Mythologies. The rest of the set was pretty awesome, with the bass drum not sounding too overbearing during the electric numbers. The band got a standing ovation at the end of the set, and Massey Hall was more or less at capacity.
I bumped into Meghan before the show and she basically let me know that the band is laying low in Montreal as of tomorrow until May. I asked if they were recording a new record, she smiled and said maybe (yes). I asked about any NYE Slip or Barr Brothers show and she said they needed a break cause they've been touring so hard. No surprise there.
All in all an excellent evening. The Barrs opened for Patrick Watson who put on an incredible show, super visual and orchestral. Watson brought out the Barrs (minus Sarah) for an encore track.
I got a video of Kisses From Chelsea but some dude came into the aisle mid-song so I had to stop filming at about 4mins in. If you guys want it, I'll post it and share.
