Barr Brothers
12-13-17
Great American Music Hall
San Francisco, CA
* w/ Angelo De Augustine supporting (he was great, even though many people in the back weren't listening and were being disrespectful during his set :x )

Great BB's set. They seemed very inspired. They sold out the venue, which must have contributed to their enthusiasm. At one point Brad mentioned how SF has been so good to them for over 20 years, dating back to when the Slip were criss-crossing the U.S. You could tell they were really trying to give back, and they did.

Radio Silence
Queens of the Breakers
Hideous Glorious I
Hideous Glorious II
Look Before It Changes
Come In the Water
Even the Darkness Has Arms
Defibrillation
It Came to Me
Half Crazy
How the Heroine Dies
Song That I Heard
Never Been A Captain
You Would Have to Lose Your Mind
Static Orphans (??)
Love Ain't Enough

-Encore-
Beggar In the Morning (from the balcony, all five around a single mic, acoustic guitar only, new arrangement - wow, is Beggar *so old* now that they are reinventing how to perform it??

Shout out to Brett Lanier (of western MA) on killer pedal steel, Tele, Regent, acoustic, vocals, etc.

cool thanks for the post. Did a listen to their 3 albums the other day. Enjoyed seeing them in Williamsburg, they are playing heavily off the new album which is expected but there are a couple of older barr bros songs, i would have loved to hear live again.

Probably just overreacting, but is Radio Silence a new tune or a spacey intro to QotB?

It was new to me. Great show!!! I hadn't seen the Barrs in a while and was very satisfied. Saw lots of friends but no regular SlipLivers. I met Andrew's son before the show, cute little guy!

I ran mics in the balcony and a SBD feed but haven't had a free moment to do anything with it, and would need to get their approval to release.

Hope they come back out this way soon! Maybe Barr Bros/Slip/SMMD at High Sierra? Hope is a good thing...

To clarify Radio Silence is a whole song with lyrics etc. not just an instrumental intro.

'Radio Silence' was really great. I liked it right away. I hope it doesn't get abandoned the way 'Kisses from Chelsea' sort of got abandoned.

Harrymcq, I should have tried to connect with you at the show. Next time! I'll PM...
Also, it's awesome to hear that you recorded. I hope they approve circulation! I'd love to have this one...Keep us posted :D

I think about 8-9 months? Brad has a son as well, who is right around the same age as my daughter I believe so around 3-4ish?
