Slip into San Francisco

Thanks to The Slip for heading back out to the West Coast! I didn't keep a setlist last night due to a lack of pen, but I'll post some thoughts in hopes that some of you enjoy them.
The show started with a nice Soft Machine with B-rad on a baby blue/ strat (first time I'd seen it), Marc on Danelectric 6 string, and Andrew sticking to his Ludwig kit. It's unbelievable to me how many layers these guys juggle around. It was great to be immersed in their music again - for me it had been since the mercury lounge show back in November.
I believe Even Rats was numero dos and in the next few songs we were treated to an outrageous Get Me With Fuji (Marc was rocking a fretted bass with a natural finish, no pickguard, and a very nice sound....I'm not sure where the fretless white one has gone, but it wasn't at the Independent.)
A song new to me with the words "I know" in it a lot....seemed to be an awful lot of lyrics about women, heartbreak, and the like.
Even Rats was a treat.
A really nice Children of December, their transistions in that song are just so fantastic. Tim L. also helped Brad out on this one by putting him up on his shoulders for a few minutes. After Brad took off Tim's Yankee hat and tossed it backstage, Tim pretended to drop Brad and eventually put him down. Brad particularly seemed to be having a blast being up on stage.
it's time for breakfast....I'll add more later - a quick list of other songs I remember.
I hate love (so happy to see this)
Reddish Moon
Paper Birds
Poor Boy (encore)
Hope everyone's well.
