there is a reason that i haven't been stressing over this year's lack of slip shows and that reason is THE DUO! thank God for the duo, they are definitely the MVP's of the 2005 music season. you gotta love the positive vibe they bring to every show and how they play with every ounce of energy they have. they rocked my face once again last night and four sticks with warren haynes and andy hess was sick sick sick...get that shit when it comes up! thank you duo for making innovative and refreshing music that makes me headbang.
gov't mule was really good as well. it was was my second time seeing them and while i'd never travel to see them, they are always worth checking out when they come around. a local sax player named ron holloway played a bunch with them last night and he stole the show IMO. there was about 10 to 15 minutes of complete jazz madness in the second set and it was honestly one of the best jams i've ever seen. it was really hard getting back into the whole southern rock thing after that awesome display so i bought a duo t-shirt and went home.
duo's setlist,
best reason to buy the sun
becky
9 x 9
sunny's song
welcome red
