Grimis? Grimace?
I think I remember someone on this board always pushing Grimis? IS that right? I checked out a Grimis today on Archive, can't remember the spelling because there is also a Grimace. Grimis sucked I thought. But I was reading some user comments of Grimace's and they all said it was some of the best shit on the Llama. Didn't have a chance to check it out today but will tom.
Which Grimis(ace) was someone here pumping?

ouch.
grimis
ouch
its a differnt feel watching them then hearing them first.
I think most of those recordings are done by me, and i will attest i did not enjoy them particularly. Basic fact is because of the audience that they played for. Id much rather send a studio album of theirs or just capture a hardcore jazz fuzion of theirs. much better musicianship and crowd responce.
but if you dont like them, thats fine i dont like widspread panic

Why did you pick Panic? Just curious. Never been a huge fan, certainly not now. They should replace George with just about anyone, but particularly Luther Dickinson, but I guess he's already got a good thing going.....
Anyway Dan, I thought it was Grimis so that's why I picked them to listen to. Maybe it was the particular show, don't know, but it just didn't appeal to my tastes. I could probably be persuaded to see them live though to give them a chance.....I mean, they couldn't be worse than the Bisco Discuits, could they?

yeah, im gonna try to put a few more shows on.
but they are more of a folky rock feel now with an intense jazz scofield blend. But thats just when the singer sings. Not a great voice but brad barr too. Lyle, their guitarist, is phenominal and has such liquid fingers.
Grimis are showing such potential and have a strong fanbase already. The new songs have such a grip and hopefully you give them an open ear. Seeing them is another feel. Best times is watching them when all 4 have their eyes closed in a musical explosion of beats and rhythm and just sonic sweetness.

the guys in grimis are 20 and they've already played with the Slip, Addison Groove Project, Apollo Sunshine, Cold Duck Complex, and Piebald, gone on a U.S. tour, and performed at the Middle East and the Paradise. say what you will about the music but that;s a pretty impressive resume for a band of that age. slip fans are haters.
