That's funny, I was listening to one of my favorite shows last nite, 12/30/02, when I thought I might start a post just like this one.
That Chopping Block show is sick.
There's a great show from maybe 2000 or '99, just a one set, one disker from the moe.down........
Rhodes on the Pawtuxet 11/29/02

i dug up this old show a while ago(cant find the cd at the moment) with "Liz" singing with the boys in a song called sunshine. awesome pop-py tune. not only a minute before they played it though, androo's snare had a malfunction (broken drum head i think). it think he just flipped the drum upside down and played.
ill let ya know the date when i find it... again

10/11/2004: River Street Jazz Cafe: Plains, PA
Set I: The Highlands, Invocation, Phase One> All Blues, Dead Flowers*, Paper Birds, Still Shiver (whisper me off to sleep)^, Joe Higley, Johnny's Tune, Reddish Moon, (Brad speaks), Song, You'll Find a Home, You Can't Always Get What You Want

Brad speaks: Talked about how hard it was being on the road sometimes... just trying to please people... (so take it easy on them guys!) at the same time... smoking 2 cigarettes and doing a shot of Johnny Walker. After the show I was talking to Brad and he actually helped correct a couple things on what I had written down... but then he said... and these words are burned into my head... "write this down on the message board.. those kids will flip"... probably my 2nd best show... crowd was minimal... but the boys (thanks to sam and matt... ) dusted off some really fucking old songs... Tim.. I know your really jealous.. should have gone... Hey desiel... no decembers children All in all... awesome show... nice venue.. bad turnout... and unfortunately... so far as I know... no tapers... I'm hoping sam's got a copy and they'll send it out... that would be a wish come true... [Pstehley - patrick.stehleyATverizon.net - Mon Oct 11 2004 @ 11:45 PM]

2/11/05 is wild . . i also enjoy the slip + nathan 11/23/05. my first slip experience was spent ringing in 2002, the costume party, bouncing round an elegant ball room, located somewhere in rhode island. . it still remains a fun, carefree, lighthearted memory in my mind ! teehee anyone remember the guy dressed in a diaper?
.. yet.. haven't heard a single slip show pre- 01 (gasp!) soOo ... who what how where when is it possible to obtain older recordings? help a sister out reading these boards sparked my interest. at one time they frequently played, 54-46 was my number? ! ? !!!!!
wheres the slip been all my life.

But the Knitting Factory...damn. 4 hours of continuous Slip music spanning all kinds of crazy styles, and the recording itself is excellent quality.
