What's the deal with this 'new full length' for free?

Post: # 19999Post booher »

So I went to theslip.com the other day and saw that they had a "New full length album for free' out called 'Nine Inch Nails'. I was curious, hearing nothing of it whatsoever, so I downloaded it only to find out that the tags were actually Nine Inch Nails - the Slip, not the other way around, and the sound was completely industrial sounding like NIN, too. Why the hell is this posted on the Slip's page? What's the significance of that?

it's the slip joking around
NIN released a new album online for free called The Slip so the boys announced it on their site as a practical joke.... maybe as a bit of a jab at NIN, who knows
