Club Helsinki

Sorry to inform the board that Club Helsinki in Great Barrington MA is closing - yet another victim of the economic downturn. For those of you who've seen the Slip there (or anyone else for that matter), you know it's a special music room. Sorry to see it go.

That's sad...what a nice intimate venue. I've seen a few legendary shows there, and wish I could have cruised "out west" more often.

However, even the mighty Wetlands closed, only to be reinvented and reopened as different venues...I heard a rumor Wetlands may rise again from the ashes. So, perhaps a hiatus is temporary and some day Club Helsinki will come back around (perhaps in a different place?).

the way I hear it, Helsinki is going to reopen in Albany.

But you know. What do I know?

Heard a report on the radio that they'll be re-opening in a bigger space in Hudson, NY, which is a bit south of Albany.

How about a longer commute if you ever want to go to Helsinki again. That count?
