http://amf2005.com/hindex.htmDear Friends, Artists and The Festival Community
Unfortunately, this year’s Adirondack Forest Festival must be cancelled. I, Bill Martin, owner of Moose River Park, and Cowclops Productions apologize for any inconvenience or rescheduling that must be done to accommodate this.
The festival will be cancelled due to circumstances out of our control. I take full responsibility for this shortcoming. This year’s promoter, Will Bradford, did his absolute best in trying to pull this festival together. Will came on board late this year and, with the best of intentions and good will, invested all of his time and energy for the past five months, as well as a large amount of money, in trying to make this event work for all of us. Will is one of the most hard-working, honest people in the music industry; please do not hold him accountable for the cancellation of this festival. Even up to the end, Will has been making last-ditch efforts to make this festival work, and he has suffered the loss of quite a bit of money in the process. Despite all of the work put into this event, we are forced to cancel the event due to circumstances beyond our control, through no fault of Will, the promoter, at the last minute. After last year’s debacle and having my old partner, Jason Flynn, steal $70,000 from me and other vendors, and Madison House not returning my 15,000 deposit from The String Cheese Incident, I was hoping that if we started over with a new team, things would work out. Unfortunately, the bad vibes from last year carried over to this year, and even though all of our headliners and artists were paid their deposits, the festival must be cancelled anyway and we have now lost a large amount of money.
I would like to thank Will for working so hard to try and make this festival work. And Camie, and everyone else who worked so hard…..it’s a very fine line between success and failure. Festivals at Moose River Park in the past have had their share of troubles; I acknowledge this and wish to thank everybody who believed in our events, purchased tickets, volunteered their time and provided their music and entertainment. While I am, at this point, unable to host the Adirondack Forest Festival at my park, I am deeply sorry for the cancellation and hope that I can bring the festival community great events in the future.
Thanks again to everyone involved in working on the Adirondack Forest Festival. I will do my best to make reparations and/or reschedule this event for the people who did buy tickets in the coming weeks. First, I must deal with what is now the shambles that my organization is in. I understand that you are probably very upset and you may voice your concerns at team@forestfest.net and I will respond to your complaints in a timely fashion. The community of festival-goers is a wonderful group, and I hope to work with you again soon.
Regretfully,
Bill Martin
Man, this guy can't catch a fucking break.. it looked pretty good.. hopefully this year, if people bought tickets they will get their money back....
