went to see steve kimock band last night at the park west in chicago. show was spectacular. one of THE best shows i have ever seen. period. the lineup now if you aren't familiar is, obviously, steve on guitar, reed mathis on bass, rodney holmes on drums, and robert walter on keys.

the interplay between the 4 is outstanding. i believe this is their first tour together and they play like they've been playing for 10 years. the stops, changes, and improvs are all so keyed up together that you'll be going one direction at one moment, then they'll spin you around and take you off into another direction.

don't have a setlist but we didn't get a hillbillies on pcp, but we did get a "spirits in a material world" cover from the police.

reed mathis is a bass genius and is worth the price of admission alone. so is rodney. just to see these 4 play together. words can't explain what you'll see, feel and hear.
